Web server will not serve a specific image

A couple of days ago the server I am responsible for administrating went down and was rebooted. The server has Apache 2.4.6 installed on CentOS. After it came back on line and I restarted my Java code, on the website's html pages two of the png images will no longer display. These two images are generated repeatedly by the Java code running continuously in the background.

If I try to display the image directly in a web browser, the error I get back is:

The image "file" cannot be displayed because it contains errors.

If I rename the file and try to display it in a browser, it displays fine with no errors.

This only happens in the https version of the website, not http. The pages with the links to the images only contain html.

Other images which are in the same directory on the server can be viewed in a browser.

I have no idea what would cause this, does anyone have any ideas where to start and what to look for?
